Louis XV style chest of drawers with marquetry in floral motifs

Reliable reproduction of a two-drawer commode on tall curved legs with double-curved sides as favored during the Louis XV’s reign. The body is in French oak. The front (façade) has a decorative unit inlaid with marquetry of fine bird-and-flower pattern in light color woods placed in a rosewood ground framed with veneer in kingwood. The serpentine skirt shape is emphasized by a gilt mount of asymmetric shape in line with rococo fashion of the Louis XV’s period. The feet are protected by decorative gilt-bronze mounts. The marble top is in variegated coral and white colors. It is polished with shellac varnish in the famous French way. This fine-quality piece was made according to the way of the renowned cabinetmakers, which produced furniture to decorate the great French palaces in the XVIII century.
