This exquisite bureau made of solid oak has a serpentine bronze-framed top above three drawers. The table top is inset with a large gold-stamped leather surface, which is surrounded by Indian palisander veneer and decorated with floral marquetry in each corner. The drawers are faced with panels of rosewood and embellished with medallions of floral marquetry in an Indian palisander ground. The whole stands on cabriolet legs, which are decorated with gilded mounts cast with scrolls and foliage and terminate in brass sabots.
