Writing table in the style of Louis XV

 

Elegant Louis XV style table-desk in French solid oak, inlaid with rosewood veneer. This kind of table was usually used by the ladies of the Louis XV French court in his private apartments for writing letters and documents or to sign them. However it could also be used for embroidery or needlepoint. This piece has a flat, molded top above a shaped apron with a single drawer for storing writing materials, and is raised on exquisite cabriole legs. The table top has a leather writing surface decorated with a frame of gilt motifs. This piece is finished by French polishing.
